Gayatri Mehta is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of North Texas, Denton, TX. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. Her research is focused on designing low power custom reconfigurable architectures and developing efficient algorithms for mapping applications onto reconfigurable architectures through crowdsourcing. One of her interactive design frameworks, UNTANGLED, designed to uncover human mapping strategies has received the People's Choice Award in the Games and Apps category of the 2012 International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge conducted by the National Science Foundation and Science. She is a senior member of IEEE, and a member of the IEEE computer society and ACM.
Her research interests are broadly in the areas of Electronic Design Automation, Reconfigurable Computing, Low-Power VLSI Design, System on a Chip Design, Embedded Computing, and Portable/Wearable Computing.
