Biography

Mahmoud Ghofrani received his B.Sc. degree from the Amirkabir University of Technology and his M.Sc. degree from the University of Tehran, both degrees in Electrical Power Engineering.
He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.

Dr. Ghofrani is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, at the University of Washington, Bothell.
He is an IEEE senior member. He is also an Editorial Board Member of several journals including The Open Electrical & Electronic Engineering Journal (TOEEJ), International Journal of Electric Power Science Development (IJEPSD), Renewable Energy Research, etc.He is the author and co-author of 50+ publications in top-tier journals and conferences. In addition, he has authored 5 book chapters and edited a book in different areas related to his research interests.

Area of Interests

His research interests include power systems operation and planning, renewable energy systems, smart and microgrids, electric vehicles, and electricity markets.
