Yang Cai received a B.S. degree from Henan Polytechnic University, Jiaozuo, Henan Province, China, and the M.S. degree in China University of Petroleum (East China), Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, in 2013 and 2017, respectively, all in energy science and engineering. He received his Ph.D. degree from Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, in 2020. Since 2014, he has been working as a research associate at Wuhan University (Supervisor: Prof. Fu-Yun Zhao). He is also the youth backbone member of the Key Laboratory of Hydraulic Machinery Transients (Wuhan University), and the academic leader of the Building Energy Saving and Energy Utilization Team (School of Power and Mechanical Engineering, Wuhan University). Yang Cai is currently an Associate Professor at the New Energy Science and Engineering at the Jinan University, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China. He was a winner of the Best M.S. Thesis Award in Shandong Province in 2018 and was awarded the academic star from China University of Petroleum (East China) and Wuhan University in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He has published over 35 papers in international archival and regional academic journals and conference proceedings (e.g. ECM, ATE, EN, etc.), and he has participated in a number of national funds research work since 2014. His research work is widely recognized and highly acclaimed by peers at home and abroad. He also serves as a reviewer for several leading journals, such as Energy Conversion and Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Energy Research, Renewable energy, and so on.
His research interests focus on sustainable energy utilization and conversion, Clean power systems and Thermal Management, Advanced Thermodynamics and Environment.
